The Nike Tennis Classic also known as the Wimbledon, were first made in 1982 demonstrating simplicity made beautiful. A high class standard shoe, boasted when John McEnroe wore these to Wimbledon which drove its sales sky high making it one of Nike’s most successful tennis trainers ever to be made and sold.
Many varieties of the tennis trainer were made in the upcoming years but the 1985 edition was the most memorable as the outsole was thinner and the swoosh was reduced to produce this stunning vintage classic.
After being re – issued in the new millennium, they were still as popular, if not more as an everyday trainer and on the courts.
